Here's another applet that doesn't make much sense yet because it belongs in a wider context. This applet allows you to create your own flag, from a large (but limited) set of possibilities. There are 16 basic flag layouts available. Each layout may have 1 to 3 different colors, chosen from a palette of 16 colors. Also, the flag may optionally have 1 of 30 symbols, and the symbol may be in any one of 9 positions on the flag.
To customize your flag, click on the flag. A window will pop up allowing you to edit the flag. Unfortunately, due to a bug in Netscape's java interpreter (at least in Navigator 3.0 for Mac), there is no way for my graphical popup menus to work editing the flag in place. As a matter of fact, if you even move the flag editor window, popups won't behave correctly).
Click on any colored area of the flag to change its color. Click on the flag pole to change the basic layout of the flag. Click on the symbol to change the symbol (if there is no symbol visible, click on the ball on top of the flag pole instead). Click and drag the symbol if you want to change its location. Remember, for now it can only be in one of 9 locations (imagine a tic tac toe board on the flag).
That's it for now... saving your favorite designs will come later.
